I like Marian, but continuing his pattern, ala A-Rod, his playoff effort was fair at best. It would be nice to have him in Detroit, but in a very strange way, this guy doesn't show up when his team needs him the most. He's a mentally weak performer.
The guys got no stones... which tells you why the Avs have played so poorly for him...twice. No one else will offer him a HC job, and even when they're actively looking, he's hanging on. No self respecting HC would tolerate that.
Hopefully, we'll get to see if he can do what Tony and Wayne could not do... coach a 'winning' team. I believe Patrick will coach a gritty team, teach toughness, and stress victories, unlike Tony's soft and underperforming teams during both weak stints as the Avs HC.
Sincerely too bad he got hurt That said... what a Ducky whinner. These guys can dish it out, but can't take it. I've watched countless cross checks and cheap shots... Yes Pronger, you.
Selvin was a decent back, but will not carry a team with a quarterback question. They need a horse, a snow plow, or a punsher.
Nash will have some success, you can't skunk a great player. However, Hitchcock must know he's not done well simply playing Detroits first line well. They better mix it up to find something better.
